Offered For Sale by the California Automobile Museum

A 1930 Ford Model A. A very nice looker, a full and complete amateur restoration was completed in the early 1990's (no documentation, statement from previous owner). The car still retains all of its original sheet metal and steel. The body is relatively straight overall but has some imperfections upon closer inspection. Some of these imperfections include cracks in the left rear and right front fenders. There is also a small dent on the passenger's side door just below the window. There are signs of rust present as well along the drip rails on both sides of the roof and some small signs of rust (cancer) on the lower cowling near the doors on both sides. There is also some surface rust forming on the rims. The paint is still in decent shape but there are minor nicks and scratches all over. The exterior appearance from 20 feet makes this a wonderful car to look at. The 4.75-5.00-19 Firestone Wide Whitewall tires give it a unique and vintage feel. The spare tire is securely mounted with a lock and cover. The tire is currently flat and its true condition is unknown although it looks new and unused. All of the security options work. The key operated the passenger's door lock and the rumble seat compartment. The rumble seat compartment lock is a little stiff and could use some lubrication as well as the interior driver's door lock. The interior is neat and clean, free from stains or odors. The interior appears to be a like period aftermarket kit. The panel fitment around the back window could use some adjustment and the driver's door panel is a little loose. The bench seat is adjustable and comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. There are some installed options on this A for convenience such as the ash tray (cigarette lighter insert does not work), electric windshield wiper (not working) turn signals/hazard lights, and a functional dome light. In addition to that, there are additional gauges that help keep an eye on the mechanical condition while out cruising around. The instrument cluster (bezel loose) contains gauges for fuel, water temperature, battery condition, (amp meter) oil pressure (not working) and of course a speedometer/odometer (not working). All of the lighting on this Ford is operational with one exception, the passenger's side tail light. The turn signal indicators for both sides do not operate (inside only) but the lights still flash properly. The horn, although installed, is not currently working as well. Other small cosmetic items are the gear shifter knob is missing and the rear rumble seat. The seat back cushion is loose or not attached to the lid and that lid does not close flush. Mechanically, this A is a very nice driver. The engine (rebuilt during restoration) runs very well. It starts with ease and does not smoke, make any weird or abnormal noises, or do anything out of the ordinary for a stock style Model A engine. The Model A still retains its 6 volt electrical system but the battery is a little weak due to the car sitting for some time. Driving and acceleration is good. There is a little play in the steering and while the brakes stop well, they will occasionally grab faster on one side during the initial application of the brakes causing a brief pull to one side or another. One other small detail is the strut (the piece that keeps the door open. Both hinges are present and intact) assembly for the driver's door. It is missing. This Model A is definitely a good solid runner and with a little work and a few adjustments would make a great road car. If touring is not your thing, this would be a great foundation for an easy restoration. Some other notes that may be of interest, this car was purchased by its current owner in July of 2008 from a seller on eBay. The car was purchased from Kansas City, Missouri and it is assumed that this car is originally from there. It has been in California since. The tires were new at the time of sale but the car has been sitting most of the time since. While the tread is still good on them, there may be flat spots or cracking not seen during our inspection. As can be seen in the photos, there are some cosmetic add ons as well. The grille guard and the headlight visors are just a few worth mentioning. The top is also in good condition and does not appear to leak.

The History

The Ford Model A was the successor to the famed Model T and was built from October, 1927 through March, 1932.

While the Model T was the legendary car that “put America on wheels”, by 1927 it was a very dated design and buyers had a wide variety of other good cars to choose from.

Henry Ford literally shut down production for some six months to change over to Model A production.

The new car reflected the more sophisticated design influence of Henry’s son Edsel. Edsel’s “Little Lincoln” styling included lower, wider fenders, and by 1930, a higher hood and cowl, with stainless steel for the radiator and headlight shells.

The car appeared lower through use of balloon tires on 19-inch wheels, replacing the earlier 21-inchers.

The steering ratio was changed to make steering easier and vacuum operated windshield wipers were now standard.

Model As were available in a wide range of body styles and prices, from the basic two-seat roadster at $435 to the $660 Town Sedan. There was even a formal Town Car at $1200. Only 96 of those were sold.

Despite the popularity of Chevrolet and Plymouth in the same price range, Ford sold over 1.1 million cars in 1930, almost twice as many as Chevrolet and more than 14 times as many as Plymouth.

This little coupe still features its original driveline and running gear. It also features the popular option of a rumble seat which allows two passengers to ride in the rear, outside the cab.

1979 MG B

1979 MG B - $14,500 - Stratford, CT -

Sold by us four years ago and, after a very happy ownership, reunited with us in a 'trade up.'

41,000 genuine miles, looks and runs the part...almost like brand new. Near perfect body and very nice paint, excellent original drive train, interior, etc. A real joy to drive. Literally looks and drives like new.

Fitted with a Weber carb for extra performance, luggage rack, stereo/CD, even the clock works. No rust under the floor, sills, battery box, the original wiring harness looks 'as new,' its overdrive transmission gives six forward ratios, and the car will cruise at near 70 moh turning a mere 3,000 rpm.

Just finished a first class professional chrome bumper conversion. New chrome, brackets, lights, indistinguishable from an earlier B but with a nicer dash, better electrics, servo brakes, etc.
We also lowered the rear and fitted lower front springs to bring the ride height back down to pre 1974 1/2 levels, installed a nice set of original (early) perforated steel wheels with hubs. We can also offer this car with new Minilites or even a wire wheel conversion.

See, the later cars suffered from less than attractive bumpers, raised ride height to meet Federal bumper height standards, and anemic performance from its single Stromberg carbed engine. BUT there were virtues....better build quality, better electrics, dual circuit servo assist brakes, better dash (in the late model rubber bumper cars), better cooling system, twin electric cooling fans, etc.

HENCE....this car will be the best of both worlds....better performance with the Weber carb, better handling with the lowered suspension, better esthetics with the new chrome bumper installation yet retaining the other virtues.

A rare opportunity to purchase a lovely MGB that can be used in all seasons (yes, a/c IS available) and for distance driving.

All reasons I enjoy my own 1975 ex-rubber bumper MGB...with all of the 'goodies' added. Great car.

1993 Bentley Continental

1993 Bentley Continental - $49,750 - Las Vegas, NV -

Although this magnificient Bentley is a 1993 it only has just a little over 23,000 miles on it... and the lines are classic and most people think its almost brand new. It's a classic and will get you parked upfront by the valets, while $100K Mercedes get parked in the back lot. This car has gorgeous tan paint and check out the special custom looking wheels with the Bentley logo.. this car has an upgraded high wattage sound system with a pop out video screen. The tabacco brown leather interior is very rich and even the headliner is brown leather. Even comes with the original hard to find Bentley tool kit. The paint only has some very hard to spot minor nicks here and there, but nothing to worry about... other than that, why not look like a million bucks driving a Bentley, as opposed to another run of the mill cookie-cutter luxury car. 1970 Plymouth GTX

1970 Plymouth GTX - $55,000 - GLENDALE, AZ -

1970 Plymouth GTX, VIN: RS23U0A133418, came out of the factory as a 440 4 barrel car with automatic transmission,  It is now a 440+6 with temac pistol grip 5 speed manual.  This car was restored in 1999 and I have had the car since 2005.  The engine is a date coded (1969) 440 block.  The engine was rebuilt in 2006 with too many upgrades to list.  It now has a hydrolic roller cam with JE pistons, Edlebrock aluminum heads and TTI headers with  original six pack intake and carbs.  While maintaining a stock factory appearance on the outside, the car has had many modern upgrades to make it a great driver.  The manual drum brakes have been upgraded to SSB power disc brakes all around.  The Chrysler pistol grip 4 speed has been replaced with a modern Tremac pistol grip 5 speed.  The rear end is a Moser Dana 60 with 4:10 gears.  The car came with the factory 15" Rally Road Wheels and period tires, which go with the car, along with most of the other original parts if you wish to go back to pure stock condition.  The car has been dyno'd at 536 HP and 632 pound feet of torque and is a blast to drive.  Everything works on the car, including the tic-toc-tak and the clock keeps perfect time.   The first car show I entered, I came out second place.
